Every child CODEWA serves is a reflection of our founder's own story and the inspiration that drives everything we do.
Somewhere in Tanzania right now, a child is sitting in class hungry, wondering if they matter.
Our founder was that child. Hungry. Without books. No direction. No one telling him he could make it just the silence where a future should have been.
He refused to let poverty write his story. That refusal became his inspiration. And together, we have spent every year since making sure no child faces that silence alone and that every child who needs it finds someone willing to inspire them forward.

Foundation of Impact
Poverty doesn't push a child out of school with one problem, it comes from every direction. That's why we address education, health, digital skills, mentorship, and climate action together. Because no child should be supported partially when they need support fully.
To provide vulnerable children and youth with the integrated knowledge, skills, and support they need across education, health, mentorship, digital skills, and climate action so that poverty never determines a child's destination.
A Tanzania where every child and young person, regardless of where they were born or what they were born into, is inspired, equipped, and free to build a dignified future.
"When you change a child's perspective, you change their destiny."
For many vulnerable children and youth in Tanzania, the greatest barrier is not outside them, it is inside them. Years of poverty teach children to shrink, not dream. Our programmes don't just open doors. They teach children to believe they are allowed to walk through them.

What We Do
Every barrier a child faces is connected to another. That is why we address education, health, mentorship, digital skills, and climate action together not as separate projects, but as one integrated response to a complex problem.

Tuition is free. But poverty is not. A missing uniform, a 15km walk before sunrise, or a single exam fee can end a child's education permanently. We remove those barriers one by one through school kits, bicycles, scholarships, and mentorship so a child's potential, not their poverty, determines their future.

A certificate is not enough. Capability is. Through the Capability Fund and the Girls Digital and AI Skills Hub, we equip school leavers and out-of-school girls with the mindset, digital skills, and career readiness to translate their education into a livelihood and a life of leadership.

Material aid was not enough. So we went deeper. Resilience Circles and large-scale Inspiration Seminars address the invisible barriers trauma, low self-esteem, limiting beliefs that no school kit can fix. 75% of participants report stronger self-belief after one year.

A fever should never end a child's education. The Toto Afya health insurance card protects one child for 365 days from EUR 25. MHM dignity kits give girls back the 60 school days they lose every year to stigma and poverty. Illness treated in a day, not a dropout in a term.

Someone planted the tree I eat from. Now it is my turn. Student-led Climate Guardian Clubs are planting 1,500+ fruit trees, building school gardens, and restoring Tabora's land with a 90% sapling survival rate because the students who plant them protect them.
Our Footprint
These are not projections. They are what has already happened, verified across CODEWA's partner schools, communities, and programmes in Tabora since 2015.
A movement of aspiration and psychological resilience built across schools and universities in Tanzania. One room. One role model. One belief shifted forever.
School kits, bicycles, scholarships, and health cards delivered to vulnerable students whose families could not cover the cost themselves.
Fruit trees planted in partner schools across Tabora, tended by student-led Climate Guardian Clubs with a 90% sapling survival rate.
From digital skills to health literacy to career readiness, each session equips a young person with something they will carry for the rest of their life.
Schools across Tabora where CODEWA programmes run, teachers are trained, and children are protected from the barriers that once forced them out.
Four CODEWA beneficiaries now in their second year of Bachelor's degree programmes. The first in their families to reach university. They are what this work looks like ten years later.
Local and international mentors, trainers, and professionals who have given their time and expertise to a generation of children in Tabora who needed to see what was possible.

In the Field
From solar-powered digital hubs to school gardens that will produce fruit for thirty years, every CODEWA project is designed to outlast the funding that started it.
We empower youth to become the architects of a greener Tanzania. Having established successful school gardens, we are now seeking strategic partnerships to scale this ecological restoration model to 50 additional schools.
