From the Hub: GDASH Cohort 2 Is Almost at the Finish Line
codewatz@gmail.comA few weeks ago, a group of young women in Tabora walked into a room and sat down in front of a screen for the first time. Today, they are designing, creating, and building something that belongs entirely to them.
Something Special Is Happening in Tabora
Some of them had never used a laptop before. Some had left school early. Some were young mothers juggling a child at home and a new skill in the classroom. All of them came with one thing in common: they chose to show up. They chose to try.
Today, those same young women are designing on Canva, working with AI tools, writing professional documents, and creating digital work that they are genuinely proud of. They are not just learning. They are growing.
What Cohort 2 Has Learned
Over the past months, the girls of Cohort 2 have worked through a full digital skills programme built for young women like them. Here is where they stand today.
Email and Digital Communication
Setting up a professional email, writing clear messages, and building a digital identity that represents them well.
Office Applications
Writing documents, organising information, and producing clean professional work.
Claude AI
Understanding artificial intelligence and using it as a thinking, writing, and research tool every day.
Canva Design
Making posters, flyers, social media content, and brand materials. This is where the room comes alive.
A Day That Reminded Us Why This Work Matters
Today was one of those days. The girls arrived in their brand new GDASH T-shirts. They sat down, opened their tools, and got to work. The room was full of focus, questions, laughter, and the quiet pride of people who know they are getting better at something that matters.
The smiles in that room said everything. These are young women who did not give up. And it shows in everything they are producing.

Almost at Graduation
Graduation is just weeks away. When that day comes, each girl will leave with a certificate, a skill set, and something that no one can take away from her: the knowledge that she learned something hard and she did not give up.
After graduation, GDASH graduates are ready to open a Digital Service Kiosk in their community, offering poster design, document writing, CV preparation, and AI assisted content creation. They can earn from what they learned. From their own community. On their own terms.
That is what this programme is for. Not just to teach software. But to open a door that was not open before.
We are proud of every young woman in Cohort 2. We are proud of their courage, their hard work, and their willingness to keep going even on the difficult days. We cannot wait to see them step into the digital market, confident and ready.
