Career Development Workshop at Tabora Bliss College: Preparing Youth for Lifelong Success
On March 10, 2023, Community Development Watch (CODEWA) conducted a one-day Career Development Workshop at Tabora Bliss College. This initiative was designed to help youth develop essential soft skills to complement their academic knowledge, preparing them for professional success and personal growth.

A Focus on Soft Skills
During the workshop, students explored key areas that are often overlooked in formal education but are critical for career advancement:
- Communication and effective interpersonal skills
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Leadership and problem-solving
- Adaptability and professional etiquette
By engaging in practical exercises and interactive discussions, participants gained confidence and a deeper understanding of how to navigate challenges in the workplace and in life.
Why This Matters
Hard skills can get young people in the door, but soft skills help them thrive once inside. Many youth in Tabora face limited access to mentorship and guidance in these areas. Workshops like this:
- Enhance employability and career readiness
- Provide tools to make informed decisions about education and work
- Build resilience, confidence, and lifelong learning habits
The Role of CODEWA’s Programs
This workshop aligns with CODEWA’s Mentorship and Inspiration programs, which aim to nurture youth potential, equip them with practical life skills, and empower them to achieve personal and professional success.
