Bringing Hope Back to School: CODEWA Distributes School Materials to Vulnerable Children

In January 2025, Community Development Watch (CODEWA) successfully conducted a school materials distribution activity aimed at supporting children from vulnerable and underprivileged households. Through this initiative, CODEWA provided essential school supplies to 25 children from low-income families, enabling them to begin the new academic year with confidence, dignity, and renewed hope.

The beneficiaries received a complete package of school necessities, including exercise books, pens, school bags, and other essential learning materials. For many of these children, access to such basic items is often a major barrier to attending school regularly. This support directly addressed that challenge and ensured that no child was left behind simply because of poverty.

Beyond the distribution of materials, CODEWA also conducted a motivational and educational session with the children. The aim was to encourage them to embrace the new academic year with confidence, determination, and full positive energy, regardless of their background. The session focused on building self-belief, resilience, and the importance of education as a foundation for a better future.

The workshop and mentorship session were facilitated by Mr. Fredrick Sunday, alongside our dedicated volunteer Ms. Lilian Kilewo, whose commitment and passion played a key role in inspiring the children. Through storytelling, guidance, and encouragement, the children were reminded that their circumstances do not define their destiny.

At CODEWA, we believe that education changes everything. Each notebook given, each word of encouragement shared, and each child supported is a step toward building a more just and empowered society. This January 2025 initiative was not just about materials — it was about restoring hope, strengthening dreams, and reminding children that their future matters.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our facilitators, volunteers, and supporters who made this activity possible. CODEWA remains committed to supporting vulnerable children and ensuring that education becomes a tool for transformation in every community we serve.
