Transforming Early Learning: Pre-Primary Classroom Setup Progress at Town School
Community Development Watch (CODEWA) is excited to share the remarkable progress made in setting up the newly renovated pre-primary classroom at Town School. This work is part of our ongoing partnership with the Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KTCT), aimed at strengthening early childhood education and creating nurturing spaces where young learners can thrive.

Creating an Engaging Learning Environment
On Thursday, our team began arranging and displaying teaching and learning aids inside the pre-primary classroom. These carefully crafted materials are designed to stimulate curiosity, improve literacy, and encourage early learning through play.
By Friday morning, as children arrived at school, their reaction was priceless. Many were amazed to see their classroom transforming—colorful teaching aids on the walls, interactive learning corners, and a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere. Some learners were so excited that they didn’t want to leave when it was time to go home!
This excitement reaffirmed the importance of creating child-centered environments that inspire learning and imagination.
Collaborative Production of Teaching Aids
To ensure high-quality and relevant learning tools, CODEWA brought together skilled teachers from neighboring schools who worked hand-in-hand with local educators. Their collaboration focused on crafting effective, low-cost, and age-appropriate teaching and learning aids for pre-primary learners.
So far:
- Dozens of teaching aids have already been created
- More materials are currently in production
- Essential learning supplies have been procured for classroom use
This collaborative effort is strengthening teaching capacity while equipping the classroom with tools that directly support early literacy, numeracy, creativity, and social development.

Impact on Early Childhood Education
The progress made marks an important step toward:
- Enhancing school readiness
- Supporting teachers with practical learning tools
- Creating safe, engaging classrooms for young learners
- Improving literacy and foundational skills at an early age
These efforts align with CODEWA’s commitment to ensuring that every child—regardless of background—has access to quality, supportive, and joyful early learning experiences.

Appreciation to KTCT
CODEWA extends heartfelt gratitude to the Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KTCT) and its supporters. Their generosity is not only transforming physical learning spaces but also shaping the educational journey of children for years to come.
Looking Ahead
We are excited to continue sharing updates as we finalize classroom setup, distribute learning materials, and begin full implementation of activities with teachers and learners.
