The growing influence of social media in shaping attitudes, behaviors, and relationships<\/strong> in the digital era<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, the group highlighted the positive power of technology<\/strong> \u2014 how it can be used to raise awareness, report abuse, seek help, and advocate for safer communities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
The Power of Peer Support in Digital Safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
A key outcome of the discussion was the recognition of the important role peers play in protecting one another online<\/strong>. Participants emphasized that young people must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
Speak up when they see online abuse<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Support victims rather than blaming them<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Share accurate information on digital safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Promote respectful digital behavior within their networks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
The young women also discussed responsible use of smartphones, tablets, and laptops<\/strong>, stressing the importance of privacy, safe sharing, and critical thinking to avoid digital harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Building a GBV-Free Digital Future<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
This Focus Group Discussion was not just a conversation \u2014 it was a step toward building a safer, GBV-free digital space led by informed and confident young women<\/strong>. The participants left with increased awareness, practical knowledge, and renewed commitment to becoming digital safety ambassadors in their communities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This activity reflects CODEWA\u2019s broader vision of using education, dialogue, and youth leadership<\/strong> to tackle GBV and empower young people to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
