{"id":20450,"date":"2024-07-26T06:45:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T06:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/codewatz.org\/?p=20450"},"modified":"2026-02-18T11:00:46","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T11:00:46","slug":"malaria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/codewatz.org\/fr\/malaria\/","title":{"rendered":"CODEWA Contributes to National Efforts to Strengthen Malaria Community-Led Monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From July 13\u201327, 2024, Community Development Watch (CODEWA) proudly participated in a two-week national workshop organized by the <strong>Ministry of Health through the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP)<\/strong>, in collaboration with the <strong>World Health Organization (WHO)<\/strong>. Alongside government representatives, experts, and other civil society actors, we contributed to discussions and planning processes centered on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Designing the national CLM framework<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening community-based monitoring systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring malaria services are accessible, high-quality, and rights-based<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Addressing gender and equity considerations in malaria interventions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This engagement deepened our understanding of how communities can meaningfully shape health service delivery and accountability mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why CLM Matters for Children and Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaria remains one of the biggest barriers to children\u2019s learning, school attendance, and overall wellbeing. By supporting efforts to reduce malaria prevalence, CODEWA is also advancing its broader mission to create environments where children and youth can learn, grow, and thrive without preventable disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this workshop, we gained important insights on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How community-led structures can identify malaria challenges early<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ways to work with health facilities to co-create solutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tools for monitoring quality, access, and equity in malaria services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These lessons will directly strengthen CODEWA\u2019s community health initiatives and help us contribute more effectively to local malaria prevention efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strengthening Our Commitment to Health and Community Empowerment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating in the CLM workshop reinforced CODEWA\u2019s belief that <strong>healthy communities create stronger foundations for learning and development<\/strong>.
