January 2021 Impact: Back to School Support and International Partnerships Empower Tanzanian Children

January 2021 started on a high note for CODEWA as we embarked on initiatives to support children in Tabora. Through generous donations and international partnerships, we were able to bring joy, essential learning resources, and inspiration to orphans, vulnerable children, and young learners.

Back to School: Supporting Orphans and Vulnerable Children

On January 9th, 25 children received essential school supplies including backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencil cases, bicycles, shoes, uniforms, and porridge to support their nutrition. These items are more than just tools—they are gateways to learning, confidence, and brighter futures.

“These school supplies are priceless considering the opportunities they provide to children who are orphans and vulnerable,” said CODEWA’s Educational Coordinator, Juma Mahundi. “Together with our partners, we are one step closer to getting Tanzanian OVCs back to school and giving them the chance to succeed.”

Welcoming International Support: WayAir Foundation Visit
Just a few days later, on January 15th, CODEWA had the honor of hosting the #WayAirFoundation team at our office. Together, we shared strategies on improving education for Tanzanian children and explored ways to help them reach their full potential.

Our children were thrilled to receive gifts from the foundation and their friends from Poland. The visit reinforced the importance of international collaboration in empowering young learners and building pathways for education, mentorship, and holistic development.

Inclusive education is more than a policy—it’s a commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential, regardless of ability. This workshop represented a vital step toward that vision.
