New Education Partnership with Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KTCT)
On March 15th, 2025, Community Development Watch (CODEWA) proudly announced a new and impactful partnership with the Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KTCT). This collaboration marks a major milestone in strengthening early childhood education in Tabora through improved learning spaces and essential teaching materials.

About the Project
Under this partnership, CODEWA and KTCT have launched an initiative focused on:
- Renovating pre-primary classrooms
- Equipping learning spaces with age-appropriate teaching and learning materials
- Supporting literacy development among young learners
This project sits under CODEWA’s Education and Child Development Program, which aims to ensure that every child has access to a strong educational foundation—especially in underserved communities.
Project Inception and Stakeholder Engagement
The partnership was officially introduced on 3rd March 2025 during the Tabora Municipal Education Stakeholders Meeting. CODEWA presented the project objectives, expected outcomes, and community benefits.
The response from education officials, school leaders, and partners was overwhelmingly positive. Stakeholders highlighted the urgent need to improve early learning infrastructure and welcomed the initiative as a timely and meaningful intervention for young children.
Why This Partnership Matters
Early childhood education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and shaping the future of children. Through this project:
- Learners will benefit from child-friendly, safe, renovated classrooms
- Teachers will gain access to essential teaching tools
- Parents and the community will be engaged in supporting literacy and school readiness
- Town School will become a model for nurturing early learners in Tabora
This initiative directly contributes to improved literacy, stronger school readiness, and overall better learning outcomes.
Gratitude to KTCT
CODEWA extends heartfelt appreciation to the Kitchen Table Charities Trust for believing in this mission and supporting the transformation of early education environments. Their generosity will have a lasting impact on children’s lives—helping them dream bigger, learn better, and thrive.
Looking Ahead
This is just the beginning. As renovation activities and procurement of learning materials progress, CODEWA will continue to share updates and stories from the field.
