CODEWA Participates in NaCoNGO Stakeholders Consultation Workshop and Hosts National Secretary General in Tabora
On July 21, 2025, Community Development Watch (CODEWA) proudly joined other civil society organizations in the Stakeholders Consultation Workshop for the Review of the NaCoNGO Regulations, held at Rungwe Hotel in Tabora. The workshop was convened by the National Council of Non-Governmental Organizations (NaCoNGO) to gather inputs from NGOs on the review of two key regulatory documents:
- The Non-Governmental Organizations (National Council Operational) Regulations, 2016
- The Election Regulations for the National Council of NGOs, 2016
CODEWA through its Executive Secretary played an active role in reviewing the proposed regulations, and contributing recommendations to strengthen governance, accountability, and sector coordination.

Strengthening NGO Governance Through Collective Dialogue
The workshop brought together leaders from across Tabora’s civil society network to examine how existing regulations could be improved to better support transparency, member participation, and effective national representation.
During the discussions, CODEWA contributed insights based on our experience leading youth empowerment, education, health, and community development programs in rural and urban settings. Our engagement focused on:
- Enhancing grassroots representation in national decision-making
- Streamlining elections to ensure fairness and inclusivity
- Improving communication channels between NaCoNGO and district representatives
- Strengthening regulations to protect the operational environment for NGOs
This participation reflects CODEWA’s commitment to good governance, policy engagement, and strengthening the ecosystem that supports community development work in Tanzania.
A Special Visit from the NaCoNGO National Secretary General
Following the workshop, CODEWA was honored to host Mr. Adamson Nsimba, the NaCoNGO Secretary General, for an official visit to our office. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase our programs, impact, and ongoing work to empower children, youth, and vulnerable communities.
