Inspiring the Next Generation: Motivation and Inspiration Seminars for Primary School Students
In August and September 2024, Community Development Watch (CODEWA) conducted a series of Inspiration and Motivation Seminars across several primary schools within Tabora Municipal Council. These sessions form a key part of CODEWA’s Mentorship & Inspiration Program, which is dedicated to empowering young learners with the confidence, resilience, and mindset they need to excel academically and grow into responsible, capable future leaders.

Empowering Learners Through Skills That Matter
During the seminars, learners engaged in a variety of interactive and child-centered activities including storytelling, group work, guided reflection, and role-play scenarios. These methods helped turn abstract concepts into relatable lessons children could apply in their daily lives.
The sessions focused on strengthening essential competencies such as:
• Academic resilience—helping learners bounce back from mistakes and challenges
• Communication and public-speaking confidence—encouraging them to express ideas clearly
• Teamwork and collaboration—understanding how to work respectfully and effectively with peers
• Leadership and self-belief—realizing that every child has potential to lead
• Problem-solving and creative thinking—learning to approach challenges positively
The excitement and participation levels were remarkable. Many students eagerly volunteered for activities, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed how much they enjoyed learning new skills. Their engagement demonstrated how powerful inspirational learning can be in shaping a child’s mindset and motivation.
Supporting the Growth of Young Leaders
Beyond building skills, the seminars created a safe and encouraging space where children could reflect on their strengths and explore their dreams. Several learners shared that the sessions helped them overcome shyness, reduce fear of failure, and believe more deeply in their abilities.
This work aligns with CODEWA’s broader mission of supporting children to grow not only academically, but also emotionally and socially. By helping young learners develop confidence, positive thinking, and a strong sense of self-worth, CODEWA contributes to shaping a generation that can lead with empathy, courage, and purpose.
